Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh): A mother-daughter duo from Veldurthy in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh finally received unique Aadhar identification numbers after a decade-long struggle with the same UID numbers.
Subbamma and her daughter Jayamma, registered for their Aadhar card in 2011. Even though all the details in the two Aadhaar cards are correct, clone IDs were issued to them.
Since the mother-daughter duo faced issues in availing government schemes. Only one of them was able to avail the benefits of government schemes, because of the same Aadhar number.
Jayamma and Subbamma were made to run from pillar to post to get the issue rectified. The mother and daughter were also disqualified for MGNREG and failed to get job cards, too.
