Kuppam (Andhra Pradesh): Two persons were killed by elephants in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district on Friday while in another incident four elephants have been electrocuted at Katragadda village in Parvathipuram Manyam district. At 5:25 am, a 42-year-old woman identified as Usha was waiting to take a bus to Bengaluru, along with three people at a bus station, when elephants attacked. Usha died on the spot while others managed to escape.
At the same time, the tuskers also killed a 70-year-old man identified as Sivalingam when he went out to relieve himself at 6.30 am. Chittoor District Forest Officer (DFO) Chaitanya Kumar Reddy said that people were warned of elephants' movement, especially of the two tuskers, which strayed from Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu.
