Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh):In yet another instance of migrants going through extreme difficulties to get home, an elderly specially-abled man set-off on an arduous journey from Andhra Pradesh to his native Uttar Pradesh on his hand-driven tricycle.
Ram Singh had come to Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh around two months back and used to sell perfume. However, with the onset of the lockdown, he was left stranded with no income, as he could not sell his products anymore.
While his companions left for their home states on foot, Singh decided to cover the over 1,000-kilometre journey back home to his village in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi on his hand-driven tricycle.
Singh, who had departed from Rajahmundry three days back, was spotted on National Highway 16 in Visakhapatnam district. Dr Sasidhar, a homeopathic doctor spoke to Singh and gave him money for the rest of the journey.
