G Konduru (Andhra Pradesh): A small village in Andhra Pradesh set a model in curbing COVID19 infection when the entire country is ravaged by the infection. The village, Duggiralapadu in the Krishna district near Telangana border has around 1,000 people and it reported zero cases so far.
The collective effort of villagers helped the village to keep COVID-19 at bay after they decided not to allow any outsiders inside the village. Similarly, no villager is allowed to go outside.
The village also effectively roped in the MGNREGA scheme to help the villagers depending on daily wages for their livelihood. All of them follow COVID19 protocols and maintain hygiene to prevent infection.
