Vijayawada: Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Andhra Pradesh arrested eight Bangladeshi nationals on Friday for illegally entering India. Out of them, four were arrested at Rajahmundry while they were travelling in Howrah-Chennai Central special train whereas the rest were arrested at Vijayawada, while they were onboard Amravati Express from Howrah to Andhra Pradesh. Police have also seized fake documents, including forged Aadhaar Cards, PAN cards and voter ID cards with a Bengaluru address printed from them, from their possession.
Few of them have been identified as Kareem Khan, Sheikh Saddam, Mohammed Ali Amin and Mohammed Shakayat Hussein. A case has been registered and National Investigating Agency (NIA) along with Intelligence Bureau officers are questioning them. According to reports, they are working as daily wage earners in Bangladesh and came to Goa via Howrah from Bangladesh. Vijayawada ACP Shanu Sheikh informed that they stayed in Goa from 2017 to 2019 but returned to Bangladesh after the Covid pandemic hit India.
