Police search home of former AP handloom boss

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department have seized gold, silver and one crore rupees in cash during a raid on the home of Gujjala Srinivasulu, the former chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (APCO).

Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh): Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sleuths raided the house of Gujjala Srinivasulu, former chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (APCO), at Khajipet town in Kadapa district on Friday.

Top CID official DSP Subbaraju said his team conducted the raid throughout the day and seized almost 3 kilograms of gold, 2 kilograms of silver and more than one crore rupees in cash as well as documents of many properties.

The CID sleuths have been investigating the case of irregularities in APCO.

The CID said the decision to search the property of Srinivasulu came after permission from the court.
