Police arrest mastermind of 5 Tamil smuggler killed in accident in Kadapa

After examining the call records of the labourers who were killed in the accident, the Kadapa police traced the mastermind, Bhasa Bhai who was staying in Karnataka's Bengaluru.

Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh):Kadapa district police on Friday arrested Basha Bhai, an international red sandalwood smuggler and the team leader of the five labourers who were killed in a road accident on Monday.

According to the reports, the incident took place between Goturu and Tholla Gangannapalle villages of Valluru Mandal when the SUV, that was allegedly involved in illegal ferrying of red sanders logs rammed a tipper and burst into flames.

They were overspeeding after sensing police movement on their heels when the accident occurred. The police lay in wait based on a tip-off.

Since then, the police were investigating the mastermind involved in the smuggling of red sandalwood.

After examining the call records of the labourers who were killed in the accident, the Kadapa police traced the mastermind, Bhasa Bhai who was staying in Karnataka's Bengaluru.

On Friday, Kadapa police got a tip-off about the mastermind and reacting promptly, they nabbed Bhasa bhai while he was attempting to cross the state border.
