Key Maoist leader Kamlesh apprehended, explosives seized

A key Maoist leader was arrested by police in Andhra Pradesh's Vishakha district. Police seized 3 rifles, 20 rounds of bullets, 3 carriage mines, 50 kgs of gelatin sticks, 200 metres of electrical wire, radical Maoist literature from the person.

Amaravati:A key Maoist leader was arrested in Andhra Pradesh's Vishakha district. The Maoist leader, Gemmili Kamesh, who had earlier escaped from police custody was arrested after the police received information about him hiding in the forest area of Gudem Kothaveedhi. Police also seized radical literature along with explosives from him. The Maoist leader carried a reward of 4 lakh rupees.

Kamesh aka Kumkumapudi Hari aka Malathi worked in CPI Maoist party for 14 years in different cadres. He was charged with 100 cases in different districts of Andhra Pradesh. 5 murders, 4 landmine explosions, 7 fire exchange cases, and other petty cases were registered against Kamesh.

Police seized 3 rifles, 20 rounds of bullets, 3 carriage mines, 50 kgs of gelatin sticks, 200 metres of electrical wire, radical Maoist literature from Kamesh.
