Machilipatnam (Andhra Pradesh): In a moving story, a girl child abandoned by her father reached home after a decade with the help of her teachers. The father in a drunken state fought with his wife and abandoned all his three daughters at different places while two managed to find home easily, the third child was lost.
The incident happened at Patatiruvur Nagar of Krishna District in Andhra Pradesh. The couple Nagamani and Krishna had three daughters. Krishna after picking up a fight with his wife in an inebriated condition took his three daughters abandoning them one by one in three different places in 2010.
While two daughters managed to find their way back home, Amulya the third girl child could not come back. She was found by some people and later was taken to the Child Care Centre at Machilipatnam. Amulya completed her first to seventh classes at Machilipatnam and she went to Kasturba Gandhi Girl's School in A Kondur.
The girl is currently pursuing her second-year intermediate staying in a hostel. As the hostel was closed down due to COVID19 lockdown, Amulya was given shelter by a Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya teacher, Rajyalakshmi in her house.
