Chittoor: Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram on Thursday, opined that the Indian Constitution had laid down specific rules for the 'Four Pillars of the Democracy' and it would be better if one entity does not encroach upon the duties/responsibilities of one another.
Sitaram, who had offered prayers at Sri Varasidhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple in Kanipakam of Chittoor district, was responding to the questions posed by the reporters. The latter had sought his reaction on the verdicts delivered by the High Court against the state government - led by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and asserted that such actions might hurt the functioning of one another.
"Constitution has established predefined rules and laid down the duties to be performed by the 'Four Pillars of the Democracy'. We have to respect and abide by them. But, there has been interference in the government policies, which is not good for democracy as it is the 'opinion of the people," he added.
