Hyderabad: The former India batter Ambati Rayudu on Sunday has revealed his reason behind quitting politics, citing his commitment to franchise teams such as MI Emirates for the second season of the UAE's ILT20 cricket tournament. The announcement came a day after Rayudu left the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) after nine days of joining the party.
Rayudu took to 'X', formerly known as Twitter, and explicitly expressed, "I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from Jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non affiliated whilst playing professional sport.”
The former Chennai Super Kings player also expressed his decision to step away from politics on Twitter saying, " This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while. Further action will be conveyed in due course of time. Thank You.”
