In a major shock, Pawan Kalyan, the Jana Sena chief and Chandrababu Naidu's star campaigner in 2014, loses in Bheemavaram Constituency and trails in Gajuwaka. From the current trends, it remains to be seen where the votes from the Kapu caste went. Kapu's comprising of 15% of Andhra Pradesh population have historically given their entire votes for a particular candidate. Bharat Decides 2019: YSRCP wins 149 seats

Amaravathi: Counting is underway across 175 assembly constituencies and 25 parliamentary constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. 

Over 67 per cent of the 90.99 crore electors had cast their vote in the seven-phased elections. This is the highest ever voter turnout in Indian parliamentarian elections.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu won the Kuppam Assembly seat by a margin of 30,722 votes against his YSR Congress rival K Chandramouli, the Election Commission announced Thursday night.

Chandrababu bagged 1,00,146 votes of the total of 1,81,499 votes polled, while Chandramouli managed 69,424. Chandramouli is a retired IAS officer who served under
Naidu as well.

It was the seventh consecutive time that the TDP chief has won the Kuppam seat in his native Chittoor district though his victory margin has seen a decline over the years.

In 2014 elections, the TDP had bagged 102 seats while it's then allied BJP had won four seats.

The YSRCP had won 67 seats while two independents were also elected. 

In the Lok Sabha elections held simultaneously, the TDP had won 15 and the BJP two seats. The YSRCP bagged the remaining eight seats.
