AP man drives around in car, feeds scores of needy everyday

Neeli Narsimha Rao, a travel agent from Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district, drives his car from Jaggampet to Rajahmundry everyday, finding hungry beggars, orphans, and other needy people and providing them with food packets.

Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh): In an inspirational tale of selfless service, a travel agent from Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district has been feeding scores of hungry souls for the past seven years.

Neeli Narsimha Rao, a travel agent by profession, has been using his own hard-earned money to feed the needy, beggars, and orphans for the past seven years.

During the coronavirus pandemic especially, Rao's kindness has come as a blessing for hundreds of people.

Everyday, Rao drives his car from his house in Jaggampet to Rajahmundry, distributing food packets to scores of hungry people along the stretch.

Along with the help of his family, Rao packs around 200 packets of food everyday and then goes out on his distribution drive.

"We recently came up with this mobile food bank concept, wherein I distribute food packets from my car itself. Even during the lockdown, we have been distributing around 200 food packets every day," Rao said.

Rao said that while some organisations and good samaritans feed the needy at designated shelters, his aim was to find and provide food to the needy on roadsides, and other places.

The travel agent said that he would be able to do more good work if he receives help from donors.

"If I get additional help, I can get another vehicle and reach out to even more people in other locations. My desire is to feed at least 1,000 hungry souls everyday," he said.
