Amaravati: Superstar Rajinikanth Friday said that Andhra Pradesh will be the most developed state in the country if former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's Vision 2047 is implemented. Rajnikanth was all praise for Chandrababu at a program organised on the occasion of NTR's centenary celebrations.
Chandrababu is a visionary and has done a lot to shape Hyderabad city so that it can resemble New York City, he said. He is the reason why lakhs of Telugu people are working in the IT sector abroad and living luxuriously, he added. The superstar even went further to say that he would wish God to implement his plans.
Lauding the former Andhra Chief Minister, Rajinikanth said that Chandrababu is adept in dealing with both national and international politics. The superstar also claimed that though top political leaders of the country know about his talent, his greatness is appreciated by those staying abroad rather than those in the country.
''In 1996-97, he (Chandrababu) predicted the future of IT. No one could have imagined the extent of the digital world he mentioned then. Later, Hyderabad emerged as a hi-tech city. Tech giants like Bill Gates came and started companies here,'' Rajinikanth said.
Speaking about the close ties he shares with Chandrababu, he said, "I never ask for an appointment whether he is in office or not. Even if I am abroad, he calls me and wishes me on my birthday," adding that he got the chance to talk to him four months back.
Continuing with his praise, Rajnikanth said, "He is the leader of the opposition now. He is thinking about what to do in Andhra Pradesh in the future. He is making long-term plans for how Andhra Pradesh will develop in 2047. If his vision is implemented, Andhra Pradesh will be one of the foremost developed states in the country. As a close friend, I wish that NTR's soul be with him and his vision gets fulfilled in the near future.''
Emphasising the development story of Hyderabad, Rajnikanth said, "Recently, I went to Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills during the shooting of Jailer. When I visit the city at night after a span of 20-22 years, I cannot make out whether I am in India or New York. Today Hyderabad is at the top in India. The city is financially strong. Even Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has said the same thing."
Speaking about his hesitation to talk about politics on a public platform, Rajnikanth said, ''Wisdom and intellect help you to understand what to speak. Competence tells you how to speak. The audience tells you how long to speak. Experience tells us what to say and what not to say.'' Hence, he said that talking about politics in such a large gathering is not a good idea. However, the superstar made an exception for Chandrababu.
