Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh):The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's move to paint the Grama Sachivalayam's (village secretariat) buildings in the YSR Congress Party flag colours.
BJP spokesperson Lanka Dinakaran on Friday condemned the act and termed it a "misuse of public money".
Dinakaran said, "Is the YSRCP not misusing the public money by colouring the buildings in resemblance to the colours of the ruling party flag? Why are funds being used from the government exchequer."
"The party should have funded the move from their own coffers if they wanted their party colours to be painted on the buildings," he added.
The YSRCP government is planning to introduce secretariats in all villages from October 2. The party claims these will be a modern version of the panchayats where one can avail all government services.
