Anandiah shifted to Security academy in the AP's Krishnapatnam port

Anandiah—who recently shot to fame for purportedly discovering an Ayurvedic 'cure' for COVID19—has been shifted to the Security academy in the Krishnapatnam from his residence as a security measure.

Nellore: Andhra Pradesh police have shifted Ayurveda practitioner, Anandiah, to the Security academy in the Krishnapatnam port from his residence early Sunday morning.

Authorities had ordered a ban on large gatherings in a village in Andhra Pradesh after people thronged an Ayurveda centre under Anandaiah's propriety to buy 'medicines' to treat COVID19 patients.

The purported medication prepared by a local Ayurveda practitioner, Anandiah, was given for free, which is in the form of pellets or liquid drops. The 'cure' medication is believed to contain natural antioxidants and extracts from pepper, ginger, neem, turmeric, palm jaggery, honey, black cumin, cloves, java plum shoots, mango shoots, amla, hyacinth leaves, pippinta leaves, Calotropis Procera, thorny brinjal and Tinospora Codifolio, commonly known as Giloy.

However, people who consumed Anandiah's medicine were tested positive in a Rapid antigen test conducted at Krishnapatnam, said local Panchayat Secretary Rajasekhar.

Meanwhile, Achari Taloji Member of the National BC Commission supported Anandiah's cure and recommended Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to make it available to everyone in the state for free.

He added that the commission should take action against the police for inconvenience made to Anandiah.

Regional Ayurveda Research Centre in Vijayawada and the SV Ayurveda Hospital in Tirupati have sent the performance report of the cure concocted by Anandiah in Krishnapatnam to the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Delhi.

Andhra Pradesh high court is scheduled to hear the case on Monday.
