New Delhi: The Andhra Pradesh YSRCP led government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court's order which had stayed the media reporting of FIR and its content registered in the matter of Amaravati Land scam.

Reportedly, it is alleged that in 2014, some prominent judicial officers and TDP leaders had bought land in Amaravati even before it was announced that it will be made capital after the state's division.

Last week the Andhra Pradesh High Court had barred media from reporting on FIR and its contents after anti-corruption bureau had registered cases against family of a sitting judge of the apex court and the former additional advocate general of the state and his relatives.

The court had also noted the contention that media trial of the case will amount to "scandalising the authority with a mala fide intention" and had injuncted the media from reporting on the FIR.
