Tokyo:India's ace shooters Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Mairaj Ahmad Khan failed to qualify for the medal round after finishing 18th and 25th respectively in the men's skeet qualification here at the Asaka Shooting Range on Monday.
In the qualification round spread across two days, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa pulled the trigger 125 times across five series to shoot 120 targets while Mairaj Ahmad Khan executed 117 shots from the different shooting stations which were arranged in a semi-circle.
The top six will qualify for the finals, where they will shoot 60 targets.
On the second day of the qualification, Bajwa had the worst possible start compared to day one as he missed two targets in round 4, which instantly landed him out of the top-15 in the field. Notably, on the opening day, Angad missed just two targets out of 75 (three rounds) and had a top-six finals spot well insight. He had scored 25, 24, 24 in the first three series.
