Tokyo Olympics, Day 3: Sathiyan Gnanasekaran loses to Siu Hang Lam in Men's Singles Round 2

After losing first game 7-11, Sathiyan made a brilliant comeback in the second, third and fourth game with scores of 11-7, 11-4 and 11-5. However, he lost in the next three rounds.

Tokyo: Sathiyan Gnanasekaran journey at the Games has ended after he lost in the Men's Singles Round 2 on Saturday here at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium against Hong Kong's Siu Hang Lam.

After losing the first game 7-11, Sathiyan made a brilliant comeback against his lower-ranked opponent in the second, third and fourth game with scores of 11-7, 11-4 and 11-5.

However, he lost in the fifth and sixth round with a close 9-11, 10-12 respectively.

The match came to a decider in the seventh round but Sathiyan succumbed to pressure and couldn't replicate his previous show. He scoreline in the last set read: 6-11.
