Tokyo Olympics, Day 2 (Shooting): Saurabh Chaudhary through to finals, Abhishek out

Abhishek Verma significantly improved on his performance after a sluggish start as he moved his way up into the top 6 from 20s. But later in final series, the pressure seemed to have got onto him as he slipped to number 17 in the rankings.

Tokyo:India biggest medal hope in shooting Saurabh Chaudhary was at his accurate best on Saturday in Men's 10m Air Pistol qualifying round as he finished the Series six with a final score of 586, falling slightly short of the Olympic Record.

With this, Saurabh made it to the finals.

On the other hand, his compatriot, Abhishek Verma significantly improved on his performance after a sluggish start as he moved his way up into the top 6 from 20s.

But later in final series, the pressure seemed to have got onto him as he slipped to number 17 in the rankings.

He finished with a total of 575.

The final will of Men's 10m Air Pistol is scheduled at 12 pm IST.
