Indian Wells: Rafael Nadal withdrew of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells as he sustained a right knee injury a day before his semi-final clash against Roger Federer. It would have been the first meeting between the pair since 2017.

Nadal required medical attention on the knee during his hard-fought quarter-final match against Russian Karen Khachanov 7-6(2) 7-6(2).
"I warmed up today and I felt that my knee was not good to compete at the level I needed to compete in semifinals. It's tough for me to accept all these things that I'm going through in my career. Sometimes I feel sad because I'm in a disadvantage to all my opponents," Rafael Nadal said after pulling out of the tournament.
"[I need to] be positive and grateful for all the things tennis has given to me. I feel fortunate for all the things I've done in my life and the world of tennis," Nadal added.

On Saturday, Nadal actually walked out to practise and that too without any on his knee, before withdrawing from the BNP Paribas Open.
