Hyderabad: Different countries celebrate their National Sports Day on dates as per their own convenience. The National Sports Day in India which is also called the Rashtriya Khel Divas is celebrated on 29th August every year with a lot of enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The history of India's National Sports Day dates back to 29th of August, 1905 when a future Olympian named Dhyan Chand was born in a family in the Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh. He is often considered as the greatest hockey players in the history of sports. He had been three-time Olympic gold medallist winning the coveted medal in the year 1928, 1932 and 1936.
