Novak Djokovic beats Roger Federer in the longest Wimbledon Final to claim his fifth title

World Number 1 Djokovic ground down the classical skills of the ageless Federer to write his name on the 2019 Wimbledon trophy. The exciting match ended after four hours and 57 minutes of Tennis.

Simona Halep played a near-flawless final on Saturday to become the first Romanian to win a Wimbledon singles title. Her 6-2, 6-2 win wrecked Serena Williams’ latest bid for a record-equalling 24th grand slam title.

Hima Das clinches 4th gold medal in 15 days

There seems to be no stopping Hima Das as the ace Indian sprinter won her fourth international gold within 15 days after she bagged the top honours in the 200m race at the Tabor Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic. Hima clocked 23.25 seconds to clinch gold.

This was Hima's fourth gold since 2nd July when she ran her first competitive race in Europe. She also won gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix, Kutno Athletics Meet and Kladno Athletics Meet.

Indian football team end Intercontinental Cup with a draw against Syria

The Indian team had a very poor outing at the Intercontinental Cup as the team failed to win a single match in the tournament. In the last match of the event, India managed to hold Syria for a draw.

The host did not get the ideal start as Tajikistan stunned them in their campaign opener 4-2. In their next match, India were humiliated by North Korea.

North Korea lifted the Intercontinental Cup title by beating Tajikistan 1-0.

Prithu Gupta becomes India's 64th Grandmaster

Less than six years after he started playing professional chess, Gupta became the country’s 64th Grandmaster on Thursday night.

Gupta crossed the Elo threshold of 2500 points by beating IM Lev Yankelevich in the fifth round of the Portuguese League 2019.

His achievement came 31 years after Viswanathan Anand became India's first Grandmaster.

D Gukesh is India's youngest Grand Master at 12 years, 7 months and 17 days. He had achieved the feat in January this year.

Sachin Tendulkar inducted in ICC Hall of fame

Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar has been inducted into the International Cricket Council's Hall of Fame alongside South Africa's Allan Donald and Australia's Cathryn.

Tendulkar is the only cricketer in the history of 'game of fame' to smash a hundred centuries in international cricket. Popularly known as master blaster among cricket enthusiast, Tendulkar is highest run-getter in Test and ODIs.

He is the sixth Indian to be inducted in ICC Hall of Fame beside Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid.
