- Jamshedpur’s seventeen-year-old Komalika Bari defeated Japan's Waka Sonoda in the recurve cadet women's final to win gold at the 2019 World Archery Youth Championships. In doing so, Bari become the third Indian archer to hold a world title. Interestingly, this was the last tournament for the Indian archers to play under the national flag as the world archery’s suspension of the country will come into effect after this event.

World No. 1 Pramod Bhagat and Manasi Joshi bagged the top honours as India finished third in the medal tally by clinching 12 medals at the 2019 BWF Para-Badminton World Championships. While Bhagat won gold in Men’s Singles SL3 category, Joshi defeated compatriot Parul Parmer in the women’s singles SL3 finals.

Elavenil Valarivan created history as she became the third Indian shooter after Apurvi Chandela and Anjali Bhagwat to win a senior ISSF World Cup gold in the 10m women’s Air Rifle category. Meanwhile, in the men’s 10m air pistol event, Abhishek Verma clinched gold while Saurabh Chaudhary bagged bronze.
