Jerez de la Frontera: Marc Márquez, six-time defending MotoGP champion, on Monday revealed that he has broken his right arm in a crash at the Spanish Grand Prix.
His Honda team said Márquez "suffered a transverse diaphyseal fracture to his right humerus" on Sunday and is expected to undergo surgery on Tuesday in Barcelona.
The team said the 27-year-old Márquez will remain under observation for 12 hours but "no other serious head or thoracic trauma" was discovered.
"Sometimes things don't go as you expect but the most important thing is to get back up and move on," Márquez said on Twitter.
"I promise you all that I will come back as soon as possible and even stronger."
