Alajuela (Costa Rica): Costa Rica's National Motorbike Championship does not usually attract the much eyeballs, but a fight between two motorcyclists in the event, while racing last month, is gaining attention worldwide.

During the first round of Costa Rica's National Motorbike Championship in February, Marion Calvo's riding destabilised Jorge Martinez.

Calvo stopped his bike - and Martinez punched his rival, causing him to fall to the ground, but he got back up on his feet, chased Martinez and then shoved him in the middle of the track.

Later, Calvo sought to carry on competing, only to realise the race had been red-flagged.

The incident was considered by the Latin America branch of the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), and both riders were banned from taking part in any race for two years.
