Buriram: Marc Marquez needs just two points over Italian Andrea Dovizioso to proclaim himself the MotoGP world champion for the sixth time in his career.
The Thai Grand Prix taking place at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram should be the decisive race between the two riders. New on the MotoGP World Championship calendar since last year, the Thai circuit of Buriram has only one winner and it is Marquez, though he had to wait until the last lap to emerge victorious by 0.115 seconds over Dovizioso.
Sticking to the results achieved in the current season by Repsol Honda's team leader, except for the Spaniard's fall at the Americas GP in Austin that left him without scoring, would make Marquez worthy of the title.
If Dovizioso wins or is placed second or third, ahead of Marquez in Thailand, Marquez would not be the world champion as he has to outscore the Italian by two points.
Any other result Marquez would get in addition to the two points would make him the champion. In addition to the world title, there are other points of interest ahead of the Thai race.
