After just over a minute of the final against Alex Bjurberg Kessidis, the match was paused by referees who reviewed the action and ruled that Kessidis's points should be removed.

A challenge from the Swedish camp was to no avail and Lorincz went on to claim a quick victory.

In the 130 kg final, Riza Kayaalp beat Cuban opponent Oscar Pino Hinds to earn his fourth career world title.
