Exclusive | Viswanathan Anand opens up about his retirement plan

Anand also insisted that he has touched upon different aspects, including chess and computers in the book and how it has changed the game over the years.

Hyderabad: India's first grandmaster Viswanathan Anand on Sunday in an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat opens up about his retirement plans and also talked about his book 'Mind Master'.

'Mind Master', the book written by the five-time world champion, Viswanathan Anand, was released at a glittering function in Chennai on Friday. The book was released in the presence of sportswriter Susan Ninan at the function.

Talking about his life Anand, who recently turned 50 said, "Obviously, it is a nice milestone. And I have been celebrating for the past few months with all my classmates one by one."

Anand also said his 50th birthday was special because it was a natural deadline for his book which enabled him and his team to focus on.

Talking about his book, Anand said, "It is a typical autobiographical." However, he also insisted that the book consists of the most significant moment of his life.

Anand also insisted that he has touched upon different aspects, including chess and computers in the book and how it has changed the game over the years.

Anand also said that he hopes the non-chess would also enjoy the book.

When Anand was asked about his retirement plans, the five-time world champion did not give any specific date. However, he confirmed that he would participate in all the event in the next year. And he will take a decision on his future after that.

Talking about his future plans, Anand also accepted that like any other game, chess is also becoming younger.
