Hyderabad: The Pro Kabaddi Season 7 is nearing midway mark, the defending champions are currently at the second spot in the points tabvle as they have secured 39 points in 13 matches. Bulls home leg has been brilliant for them.
Last year's Most Valuable Player Pawan Kumar Sehrawat has extended his purple patch by scoring 148 points this season. Bulls captain Rohit Kumar has also played anchor role exceptionally well.
The 23-year-old Pawan has agreed that the ongoing season has dominated by the defenders which have made this season very interesting.
“This season has been hard to predict. It hasn’t been a season for the raiders. This season has been tough. Every team has come with its set of plans. It has been tough,” Pawan said.
Talking about third raiders absense in Bulls team he said, “I feel we don’t need a third raider. Last year, too we didn’t need one. Last year, I had Kashiling Adake with me. When he wasn’t with me, I had Rohit Kumar. So we didn’t need a third raider. If both raiders give their 100 percent, then a third a raider isn’t necessary.”
“We are trying our best to qualify. All teams are good and it has been a tough season. We are at the halfway mark and we will start to look at the points table. We have not focussed too much on it so far but from now on we will start to look at it to see how many points we need to progress,” talismanic raider added.
Pawan Kumar Sehrawat on raid Very few Kabaddi fans know that Pawan who has achieved a lot of success with his raiding skills was a defender in his early Kabaddi days.
“In the third season, I played in the right corner. After that I would practice raiding in my hometown. My sister suggested that I can raid well and thus I put more focus on it. In the third season I played as a raider and scored 45 points, which was the maximum for the Bulls. That gave me the confidence to continue performing the role of a raider. I stay away from social media. I put all my energies in the match,” he said.
Bengaluru Bulls have won last two matches of the home leg and will look to continue the same.
