Augusta : Augusta National is famous for its roars during the Masters championships. The championship is yet to tee off yet there were roars that will continue to echo around the world for a long period.
The final round of the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) was played on Saturday – the first time women played the course for a trophy. The impact has been enormous.
The history of Augusta Nationals is well known. The club restricted inclusion of female members until 2012 when it finally succummbed under pressure.
Criticism will , however , continue over the fact that the tournament is an amateur and not a professional one.

The presence of huge crowd along with a large number of mediapersons have thrilled even the participants. “I was shaking (on the first tee), I can tell you that. I’ve never seen this many people out on a golf course. This is way more than that has ever watched me hit a golf shot. This has exceeded my expectations by miles. There are so many people out here to support women’s golf, and that’s so special,” said Anna Redding ,22, ranked 32 in the world. Redding hit the first tee shot.
Even the veterans Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam couldn't control their emotions by the presence of huge crowds and mediapersons
