2019 ISSF World Cup: Manu Bhaker in, Heena Sidhu excluded as India squad announced

Manu Bhaker is set to shoot in the Minimum Qualification Series (MQS) after already winning an Olympic quota in the last World Cup held at Munich.

Hyderabad: The Indian squad for the 2019 ISSF World Cup which is scheduled to be held at Rio from August 26 have been announced.

Olympian Annu Raj Singh and Asian Games medallist Shweta Singh found themselves part of the women's air pistol team as Heena Sidhu lost her place in the team.

Manu Bhaker is set to shoot in the Minimum Qualification Series (MQS) after already winning an Olympic quota in the last World Cup held at Munich. Meanwhile, Yashaswini Singh Deswal managed to retain her spot in the team. 14-year-old Esha Singh also finds a place in the MQS section.

In the men's section, Kiran Jadhav replaces Ravi Kumar in the air rifle team. Deepak Kumar and Yash Vardhan also retain their place in the squad.

Sandeep Singh and Divyansh Singh Panwar have also secured their place and are set to shoot in the MQS section.

The Rio World Cup is set to be the last World Cup offering Olympic quota places. Thereafter, India can also win quota places through the Asian Championship.

So far, Anjum Moudgil, Apurvi Chandela, Saurabh Chaudhary, Abhishek Verma, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Rahi Sarnobat and Manu Bhaker have all secured Olympic quotas for Tokyo 2020.
