Cardiff: Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale believes he was 'made more of a scapegoat' for Real Madrid's disastrous season last year, and further admits he isn't happy at the club.
Bale's future was unclear throughout the summer transfer window amid suggestions returning Zidane didn't consider the Welsh International in his parts of plans. However, Bale returned with a bang and netted twice against Villareal before he was sent off.
“I understand I was made more of a scapegoat than most, I take it with a pinch of salt even though maybe it's not all fully fair,” Bale told a leading news agency.
Gareth Bale believes he was 'made more of a scapegoat' for Real Madrid's disastrous last season “Towards the end of last season was difficult, there is no denying that, not just for me but for the team. I wouldn't say I'm playing happy but I'm playing, when I am playing I am professional and I am always giving all I can, whether that be for club or country.”
Bale admitted that he doesn't expect the future to be straightforward, but acknowledged that his representatives and the club need to find a solution to avoid any more discord.
“I'm sure there'll be plenty more turbulence, to be honest,” the 30-year-old, signed from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013, continued.
“I suppose it is something you will have to speak to Real Madrid about and it's between me and them, and we will have to come to some sort of conclusion.”
