Madrid: Atletico Madrid have signed Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier on a three-year contract.
The 28-year old's form stagnated last season and the Spurs were subsequently open to sell him to further raise monet to invest in a new sporting project.
The wing-back helped his nation to 2018's World Cup semi-final while he was also instrumental in the Spurs' run to the final of last season’s Champions League.
With players such as Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Juanfran Torres all departing the Spanish giants, Trippier is likely to be a direct replacement for the latter.
Reports have also emerged that Filipe Luis could also potentially depart following the expiration of his contract while full-back Santiago Arias has also been linked to a summer departure.
