World Cup 2023: SA vs NZ: South Africa thump New Zealand by 190 runs

South Africa continued their dominant run in the World Cup 2023 beating New Zealand by a huge margin of 150 runs as the bowling unit dished out a clinical performance bundling out the opposition on 167. Keshav Maharaj picked four wickets while Marco Jansen scalped three wickets in the second innings.

South Africa dominated the tournament with bat, especially when they batted first but had a close encounter with Pakistan and was trounced by minnows Netherlands while chasing. Currently, they are placed second in the points table and have almost confirmed the spot in the semifinal. New Zealand, on the other hand, came after two consecutive defeats including a high-scoring match against Australia and India after giving a terrific fight. Kiwis would look to win this clash and seal their spot in the knockout stage of the tournament.

Pune: New Zealand skipper Tom Latham won the toss and elected to bowl first against South Africa in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup at Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium in Pune.

However, South Africa made the New Zealand skipper rethink his decision with a brilliant batting display. Quinton de Kock played 114 runs while Rassie van der Dussen played a blitz of 133 runs. The team posted a huge total of 357/4 as a result. While defending the target, South African bowlers dished out a clinical effort with Keshav Maharaj taking four wickets while Marco Jansen ensured three dismissals to his name.
