New Delhi:Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir and Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli have been fined 100 percent of their match fee after both the star cricketers engaged in a heated argument following their match at Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium at Lucknow on Monday.
The two were fined for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct and were charged with Level 2 offence under the IPL Code of Conduct on Tuesday. The Indian batting maestro and the former Indian skipper had to be separated by Amit Mishra, RCB captain Faf du Plessis and LSG assistant coach Vijay Dahiya. Kohli was also seen speaking to LSG captain KL Rahul after the altercation. Earlier, Kohli briefly interacted with LSG opener Kyle Mayers who was ushered away by Gambhir who later joined the party by himself.
The RCB batter and the Super Giants mentor admitted to the Level 2 offence made out under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct during the match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, a statement from the IPL read. In 2013 edition, the sports body chided the duo for charging up against each other in an IPL match.
