Bengaluru:Virat Kohli's Sunday night helped him breach the record for most Indian Premier League centuries ever surpassing Chris Gayle who has 6 tons. However, the Kohli-powered 197 runs on the board by Royal Challengers Bangalore was not enough to defend against Gujarat Titans, who won the play off berth defeating the home team.
In the second consecutive century, Kohli remained unbeaten 101 off 61 balls. It came with 14 boundaries of which one was a six. The strike rate was hovering around 165 per cent, in the match in which the Bangalore team was eliminated. Kohli has played 14 matches and has 639 runs with the highest score being the Sunday night knock. In the previous match, Kohli equalled Chris Gayle's most tons in IPL.
