Hyderabad: Chennai Super Kings bowlers put up a superb performance as they restricted Rohit Sharma-led Chennai Super Kings to a mediocre total of 149 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs in an Indian Premier League encounter, here, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, on Sunday.
Batting first, Mumbai openers Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma gave MI a flying start as the duo added 45 runs in just 4.5 overs.
During their partnership, De Kock was the explosive one as he hammered Deepak Chahar all over the ground in the third over. Shardul Thakur gave Chennai it's the first breakthrough by removing the South African from the attack and soon Rohit followed suit.
De Kock's 29 runs knock was laced with four sixes. Rohit scored 15 runs off 14 balls with the help of one four and one six.
Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan join hands in sixth over following the departure of Mumbai openers. Both Yadav and Ishan stablished Mumbai's innings as the duo snitched 37 runs for the third wicket. However, just when the duo started to rebuild their side, Tahir removed Suryakumar from the attack.
Batting at number five Krunal Pandya departed without adding many runs for his side on the scoreboard. Kieron Pollard joined Ishan Kishan in 13th over when Mumbai was reeling at 89/4.
