Bangaluru: Shreyas Gopal took a hat-trick in a five-over game as he removed Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Marcus Stoinis in a rain-marred match here at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. Royal Challengers Bangalore set 63 runs target for Rajasthan Royals.
The match was about to start at 8 pm but due to torrential rain, the game was delayed.
Earlier, winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith asked Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat first.
Gopal took the hat-trick, first of his IPL career, in the second over of RCB's innings.
However, after a heavy spell of rain Kohli and de Villiers came to bat and went after the bowlers. Kohli smashed 25 off 7 before Gopal removed him and de Villiers was dismissed for 10 off 4 balls. Gopal's third victim of the match was Stoinis who went back without scoring a run.
