Manchester: As India take on Pakistan in the much-anticipated clash of 2019 World Cup here at the Old Trafford on Sunday, there is a great level of excitement surrounding the match. Ahead of Sunday's match between archrivals India and Pakistan fans are high on adrenaline and that reflected on the sale of the ticket of the game.

Tickets of the match were sold out months ago within 48 hours of their release. ICC had received over 500,000 requests from fans trying to get their hands on these tickets.
Reportedly, Indian supporters booked as many as two-thirds of the tickets, while only 18 per cent were grabbed by Pakistani fans.
The India-Pakistan match is regarded as the most profitable fixture of an ICC event as these two teams don't play bilateral series often. Due to the developments across the border, this match gets extra bit of attention from fans which is why the match is dubbed as the "greatest rivalry" for which fans wait eagerly.At the time of sale, the highest priced adult Platinum ticket at face value was $300 (approximately Rs 20,964). However, just a week before the match, resale site Viagogo issued a gold level ticket for $6000, which equals nearly 420,000.“Ticket sellers compete to offer the best price to customers,” Viagogo mentioned on its website.

“Viagogo is a marketplace. Ticket sellers on the marketplace set their own prices, which may be above or below the original face value. Where demand is high and tickets are limited, prices increase,” said Viagogo in its disclaimer.
India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since 2012. Hence, cricket fans across the border wait for India-Pakistan matches in major multilateral events.
