Port of Spain: Courtesy of Virat Kohli's 42nd ODI ton and a splendid fifty from Shreyas Iyer, India managed to post a decent total of 279/7 in their allotted 50 overs.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India lost Shikhar Dhawan (2) in the third delivery of the match. However, a 74-runs partnership between Virat Kohli (120) and Rohit Sharma steadied the Indian innings with Kohli primarily looking at fine touch with some dazzling strokeplay.

India soon lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs as suddenly the pressure seemed to be back at the touring party, however, a 125-run partnership between Kohli and Shreyas Iyer (71) ensured that India solidified their position into the game.

While Shreyas completed his third half-century, Virat Kohli too reached to his 42nd ODI ton to propel the Indian innings to a comfortable position.

At one point of time, it looked like the Indians will comfortably post a total of 300, however, a flurry of wickets in the latter stages of the innings courtesy of some effective death bowling by the Windies bowlers restricted India to 279/7 in 50 overs.

Windies would now look to chase down the target of 280 to go one up in the series. India, on the other hand, would try to restrict the Windies to themselves have an advantage in the series heading on to the final ODI.
