We don't care what critics say insist Sri Lanka ahead of Pakistan clash

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne believes his team has regained much of the confidence following their narrow win over Afghanistan.

Nottingham: Sri Lanka insisted on Thursday that they don't care what critics say about their performances as they prepare to take on Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup.

"Yeah, Pakistan is an unpredictable team, but I think we also come into this game, I think we have a bit of confidence so we will be trying to give our best shot, you know. We are not over-confident as well. And we are trying to do our best. We will see tomorrow (smiling),said Sri Lanka skipper.

With one win and one defeat, Sri Lanka play Pakistan in their third match of the ICC World Cup on Friday at the Bristol County Ground.

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne believes his team has regained much of the confidence following their narrow win over Afghanistan, while admitting that the batting remains a worry.

Sri Lanka collapsed from 144 for 1 to 201 all out in just the 37th over against Afghanistan and were bowled out for 136 by New Zealand in their opening match.

They have never beaten Pakistan in any World Cup and will be looking to their senior batsmen to put up a good show to have a chance to register a second successive win.
