Mumbai: BCCI has made it clear that it will not support ICC's proposal for four-day Tests when the matter comes up for discussion during an ICC meeting in Dubai in March.

It was learnt that BCCI conveyed the message during an informal meeting with representatives of Cricket Australia, England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket South Africa and New Zealand Cricket at a hotel in Mumbai.

Board president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah represented BCCI at the meeting. Many media reports also claimed that former ICC chairman and BCCI president N. Srinivasan was also present during the meeting with ECB and CA representatives.

Watch the scenario surrounding ICC's proposal for four-day Tests.

Cricket Australia chief executive Kevin Roberts came up with four-day Tests proposal last month, saying, four-day Tests “is something that we have got to seriously consider".

CA also got the backing of ECB while Cricket South Africa also threw its weight behind the proposal.

However, India captain Virat Kohli strongly opposed the idea while former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne urged ICC to not tinker with the traditional format of the game.
