Lahore: Riding on Oshada Fernando's blitzkrieg 78 not out and disciplined bowling Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 13 runs in the third and final Twenty 20 International here at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday. Eventually, Sri Lanka have created history by clean-sweeping world number-one ranked T20I side, Pakistan!
In reply to Sri Lanka's 148 runs target, hosts Pakistan managed to score 134 for 6 in stipulated 20 overs.
Fernando smashed eight boundaries and three sixes coming to bat at No. 5 to consolidate Sri Lanka's position in the match. Except for his half-century, no other Sri Lanka batsmen couldn't really manage to stay at the crease for too long with Sadeera Samarawickrama, Angelo Perera and captain Dasun Shanaka scoring 12, 13 and 12 respectively.
Amongst the Pakistani bowlers, Mohammad Amir was exceptional as he claimed three wickets giving away 27 runs in four overs. Imad Wasim (1/18)) and Wahab Riaz (1/26) also played a key role in helping Pakistan restricting Sri Lanka to a decent 147 for 7.
