Hyderabad:Madda Ram, the disabled tribal kid from Maoist insurgency-hit Bastar, was on Saturday gifted a cricket kit by 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar. He also received a note of love from Tendulkar which encouraged the kid to continue playing.
Madda Ram Kawasi had earlier went viral after Tendulkar shared his video in his Twitter handle where the Bastar kid is seen crawling on the pitch to complete a run using his one hand while holding a bat on the other.
The 12-year-old is currently in Raipur to play a wheelchair final match, and it is here where he received the surprise gift from Sachin's manager which will further drive his hopes high to make a future in cricket.
Madda Ram was elated when he was handed over the cricket kit, a moment he will cherish forever.
Holding the bat sent by Sachin close to his chest, as reported by a leading news daily, Madda Ram said: "This is the best day of my life to receive a gift from the legend of cricket - the game so close to my heart. Holding the bat I feel a gush of blood in my body that gives me power to manifest what I want to become. My disability doesn't stop me dreaming and I have been playing cricket for the last one year and enjoy the game to core."
Letter by Sachin Tendulkar to Madda Ram Madda Ram also shared the note from Sachin to ETV Bharat, which read: "I feel very happy to see the way you are enjoying this game. This gift is a token of love for you and your friends. Continue playing," Sachin said in the note.
Madda Ram, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the batting legend.
Tendulkar had earlier tweeted a video of the boy playing cricket with his friends on New Year's Day.
"Start your 2020 with the inspirational video of this kid Madda Ram playing cricket with his friends. It warmed my heart and I am sure it will warm yours too," Tendulkar had tweeted.
