Port Elizabeth: Sri Lanka defeated South Africa by 8-wicket to clinch the series 2-0 and became the first Asian team to win a Test series in the rainbow nation.
South Africa slip to third in Test rankings
South Africa slipped to the third position of the ICC Test rankings following their 0-2 series whitewash at the hands of visitors Sri Lanka.

Despite earning four points, Sri Lanka are still ranked sixth with 93 rating points.
South Africa now have 105 rating points. Before the series begun, South Africa had 110 rating points to their name but after coping two back to back defeat to the lower-ranked side at home they went down on the Test rankings chart. They are now two points behind New Zealand (107) in the list that is by India (116).

New Zealand, however, will have to win the three-match home Test series against Bangladesh to retain their position.
South Africa were blown away by Kusal Perera in the first Test, while Sri Lanka were too clinical in the second as their bowlers made sure the hosts didn't get the chance to level the series.
