Hyderabad: The country is observing 'Janta Curfew' on Sunday after Prime Minister Modi urged the people to not go out on the streets and stay at home on March 22 to prepare for the fight against the deadly coronavirus. The people adhered to PM Modi's call and the streets around the country are significantly empty since morning.
Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin lauded the nation's effort in the fight against the COVID-19. He said that he hopes it is 'extended beyond this day'.
"Unbelievable start to the #JantaCurfew , pin drop silence as they used to say in school. Hope this is extended beyond this day and social distancing can be adhered to In the days to come. @narendramodi @AmitShah," Ashwin tweeted.
