Ranchi: India opener Rohit Sharma smashed his maiden double ton on the Day 2 of the third Test against South Africa here at JSCA International Stadium Complex. Rohit hit 28 boundaries and five sixes in his magnificent innings.
The right-hand batsman, Rahane also scored 115 of 192 balls with the help of 17 boundaries and one six. Rahane played with the strike rate of 60. This was Rahane's first fifty-plus score of the series.
The talismanic batsman scored a century in India's tour of West Indies at North Sound in the first Test. Rahane was dismissed by George Linde who is making his debut in Test cricket.
Rohit is joined by Ravindra Jadeja on the crease who is playing on 15 runs. India just lost one wicket in the morning session and will look to consolidate their position post-lunch.
