Hyderabad: Indian Premier League and controversies go hand in hand. We are only in the second week of the 12th edition of the cash-rich league and we have seen many of them. Many of these controversies are putting a big question mark on the quality of the umpiring in the tournament.
In the very first week of the season, we saw the first Mankading incident in the IPL where Kings XI Punjab skipper Mankad Rajasthan Royals batsman Jos Buttler. Then in the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians we saw umpire doing a big blunder when they didn't notice a no-ball on the last delivery of the match. Which might have cost RCB the match.
Another umpiring howler took place in Punjab match in which Ashwin bowled a 7 ball over and on the 7th ball he has smashed a boundary.
RCB skipper Virat Kohli has criticised umpires by saying that we are playing at IPL level and not at the club level.
Now Delhi Capitals coach Mohamad Kaif has also criticised the umpiring standards in the IPL. Kaif has accused that many teams in IPL are replacing poor fielders with good fielders and umpires are not doing anything about it.
IPL is said to be the biggest T20 league in the world and after these controversies fans allround the world have one question in their mind.
