Hyderabad: In a major development, Supreme Court- appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has asked the steering committee of the Players' Association to speed up the process of formation of the body within two weeks.

“The Players’ Association is expected to take shape in the next two weeks. The four-member committee has been told to expedite the process,” CoA member Edulji said.
In December 2017, CoA had invited former cricketers Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad, Shantha Rangaswamy and Bharath Reddy to form the association.
Though they met a couple of times, nothing materialised.
But on Monday, the CoA has asked them to fasten their registration process to form the body.
“There are a few paper works and legal bindings, but we are hoping that the registration process will be done in the next couple of weeks,” a BCCI official said.
“The members have been told about what’s to be done and together with the BCCI, we hope that the association is set up soon,” the Board official said.
However, some of the members of the committee denied being heard from the CoA on the formation of the body.
“We did have a few meetings in the past and have given our recommendations to the CoA. But we haven’t heard anything yet,” one of the members said, admitting that the registration process is still pending.
